Introducing ruthie L. designs’ debut rug collection – THE SECRETS OF NATURE.

This is a gorgeous collection of fine quality rugs designed by acclaimed artist and textile designer, Ruth Lazerson and hand crafted by skilled artisans in the north of India.

Says Ruth, “the threads in these rugs tell a beautiful story”. Unlike so many of the artisans who weave rugs in South Asia and who have to travel far and wide to find work, our artisans are part of a close knit community where families can live together and children can attend a small local school. A portion of each ruthie L. designs rug sold contributes towards necessary resources and funding for the school in this weaving community. For Ruth who grew up under Apartheid in South Africa the preservation of the family unit is vitally important.

ruthie L. designs rugs are all GoodWeave certified which means that the entire rug making process is transparent and consumers can be assured that their rug has been made by adult artisans and not children or forced labour which is still a serious problem in the carpet industry in South Asia.
