For almost sixty years, Florence Broadhurst’s iconic hand screen printed wallpapers and textiles have coloured the world with luxurious patterns in rich and vibrant tones.
Born in 1899 in isolated Northern Queensland, this legendary Australian designer embodies the modern image of a female entrepreneur and businesswoman.
Her design archive grew to over 500 images ranging from tapestries to geometrics, florals, psychedelic, and delightfully eccentric Chinoiserie. Yet hundreds of these designs have never seen the light of day.
Materialised now have the exclusive Florence Broadhurst rights for both commercial textiles and wall coverings for the Australasian markets and are excited to be offering a new collection of furnishing fabrics and commercial wallpapers.
Materialised’s Role In Discovering The Archives
