Siemon, a global network infrastructure specialist, has announced the addition of a bulk packaging option for its line of XGLO® fibre Optical Pigtails.
An expansion to its line of Lighthouse Advanced fibre Cabling Solutions, these 900-micron buffered pigtails are security packaged in a protective recyclable container.
Aligned with Siemon’s commitment to delivering installer-friendly solutions and protecting the environment, this bulk packaging option eliminates individual bags for reduced installation time and waste.
Ideal for splicing applications, the bulk fibre pigtails come in both OM3 and OM4 multimode and singlemode fibre types in fibre counts of 12 for SC connectivity and in 12 or 24 for LC connectivity.
The pigtails are available with a TIA/EIA-598-C colour code option for easy identification when splicing, ensuring continuity of colour codes throughout a cable run.
The singlemode pigtails also include an APC style connector option to support passive optical networks, CATV, and FTTX applications.
“At Siemon, we are always looking for new ways to provide cost savings to our customers, while also considering our ongoing commitment to protecting the environment,” says Kevin Stronkowsky, fibre product manager for Siemon.
“Not only do these bulk package pigtails eliminate individual bags for reduced labour, freight, and waste, but they also provide savings over non-bulk pigtails that help our customers lower their total bill of material cost.”
Siemon’s new bulk package XGLO fibre optic pigtails exceed TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC specifications, including insertion loss and return loss performance, and they offer a superior connector polish that meets stringent Telcordia and ISO/IEC specifications for end-face geometry.
Warranted for 20 years when installed in a qualified Siemon XGLO system and inspected to ensure superior performance and quality, these bulk packaged pigtails come in 1 and 5-meter lengths, and in both riser and low smoke zero halogen (LS0H) jacket ratings to meet a wide range of requirements.
