Sporting a complete style upgrade and some exciting performance enhancements, the 2019 PCX150 is ready to hit the streets in all of its eye-catching glory.
Available in Honda dealerships now for an MLP of $4,499, improvements to the PCX150 begin with rider comfort considerations; more freedom to move and increased under-seat carrying capacity, as well as engine upgrades, ABS and crisp LCD instruments to match the LED head and tail-lights.
While maintaining its outstanding fuel efficiency, the 2019 PCX150s engine offers more power at high rpm – with no loss of torque down low –for improved performance at higher speed ranges. To achieve the power up, the airbox now has a 1L larger volume than the previous design (achieved thanks to the rear shocks moving backward). The air intake is positioned to the left and the location and profile of internal parts has been revised to allow the smoothest airflow path possible.
The SOHC, liquid-cooled two-valve 150cc engine utilises Honda’s enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology, this innovative system employs a host of low-friction technologies to improve efficiency while also offering enhanced durability and quiet operation. Selectable Idle Stop also contributes to the outstanding fuel efficiency of the PXC150, as it automatically stops the engine running after three seconds at idle and re-starts it instantly once the throttle is twisted.
To make daily life on board the PCX150 that little bit more convenient, it is now fitted with the Honda Smart Key system. The Smart Key itself resides in the rider’s pocket and does away with the need to constantly insert and withdraw a key for ignition, fuel cap and seat.
The new chassis; a full steel duplex frame has improved handling ability and feel, without losing the in-town manoeuvrability the PCX has always been famous for, along with its user-friendliness and relaxed riding position.
Redesigned wheels save weight and wear larger tyres, the shock absorbers feature tri-rate springs and extended travel. This ensures lighter handling but also contributes to the improved fuel economy through reduced tyre deflection. The front brake is now single- channel ABS.
Upgraded natural contours and subtle chamfers give an even stronger substance to the PCXs trademark ‘flowing’ style. The sit-in riding position, under-seat storage that holds a full-face helmet and all- round build quality provide the ‘X’ level of Personal Comfort, which give the PCX its name.
The 2019 PCX150 is available in 3 colour variants: Pearl Jasmine White, Candy Lustre Red and Matte Techno Silver Metallic.
