Toyota has announced the upcoming arrival of the bZ4X Touring, a new battery-electric SUV that delivers enhanced performance, increased luggage space, and zero tailpipe emissions. The vehicle is scheduled to arrive in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2026.
Built for practicality and power, the bZ4X Touring features a 280kW all-wheel-drive system, making it the most powerful Toyota SUV to date. With an extended rear overhang and a more upright tailgate, the Touring edition offers approximately 30% more luggage volume than the standard bZ4X model.
Toyota Australia’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations, Sean Hanley, said the new model strengthens Toyota’s electric vehicle offering with a practical solution for Australian customers.
“Following on from the bZ4X upgrades announced in March, the bZ4X Touring provides an excellent solution for customers requiring extra cargo space in their electric vehicle,” Mr Hanley said.
The bZ4X Touring comes equipped with a larger 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery featuring a pre-conditioning system to optimise battery temperature for charging, even in cold climates. This enables rapid charging in around 30 minutes, supporting long-distance travel with ease.
The release of the bZ4X Touring is part of Toyota’s broader strategy to offer a diverse range of powertrain options as it works towards achieving carbon neutrality. Australian customers can expect the updated bZ4X SUV in late 2025, followed by the Touring variant in early 2026.
