How to identify rising damp

When you’re looking to buy or renovate a home, it’s important to be aware of the extras that could end up costing you thousands. Rising damp is a commonly overlooked, and extremely damaging issue that should be fixed quickly.

Rising damp can occur over several years or decades, typically starting with the paint, gradually working through the plaster and brick. Rising damp typically occurs if the damp proof course is damaged or no longer works.
