Australian Made calls on furniture, bedding and soft furnishings shoppers to take comfort in their purchase
Posted on September 19, 2018 by

The Australian Made Campaign Ltd (AMCL) is encouraging shoppers to ‘take comfort in their purchase’ and look for the famous Australian Made logo on genuine Aussie furniture, bedding and furnishings this spring.

AMCL’s latest initiative is helping to shine a light on the wide variety of Australian furniture and bedding options, while calling on consumers to keep ‘buying Aussie’ front of mind when searching for their next furniture or bedding purchase for the home or office.

“Australian manufacturers are renowned for crafting some of the finest furniture and bedding products in the world and they should be celebrated,” Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro said.

“We are reminding consumers that they have the opportunity to take advantage of all the wonderful attributes associated with Aussie furniture, bedding and furnishings products.”

“A combination of traditional media, digital and social media promotion will underpin the campaign. Additionally, a number of Australia’s leading furniture and bedding retailers, such as Harvey Norman, Forty Winks, Bevmarks and Berkowitz—already great supporters of the Australian furniture industry—have the opportunity to roll out new retail point of sale material featuring the famous green and gold kangaroo, to make it easier for customers to spot the Australian-made options.

“Australia’s manufacturing and safety standards are high and products are made to our climate and lifestyle. Local manufacturers can also provide extensive customisation options, allowing shoppers to tailor items to their specific tastes and needs. As always, when consumers choose to buy Australian they are investing in local jobs, businesses and the community, which is good for all Australians.

“It’s no surprise that 67 per cent of Australian consumers have a preference for buying Aussie furniture, beds and home furnishings.”

AMCL’s call-to-action for furniture buyers has already been welcomed at the 2018 Harvey Norman Trade show by local furniture, bedding and furnishings manufacturers, who say the newly designed signage coupled with the Australian Made logo helps shoppers to make the Australian connection instantly and clearly.

“It’s been fantastic as the logo is so recognisable, people don’t even have to read it – they can see it from afar and know right away we’re legit,” Art for Life Trading Director, Paul Grant, said.

Shoppers are encouraged to buy with confidence and take comfort in their purchase by buying Australian next time they shop for furniture.
