Combating Australia’s weather conditions
Posted on December 29, 2016 by

Australia’s climate varies greatly throughout the six states and territories; there are four seasons across most of the country and a wet and dry season in the tropical north. Temperatures can range at one time from below zero in South Australia to extreme heat in the North West of the continent. This extreme variety in weather conditions means in one season parts of the country can experience heat waves and in another, cyclones.

These hazardous weather conditions are the main cause of power outages many homes and businesses across Australia experience. Of course you can prepare for a power outage by putting together an emergency kit, buying non-perishable staples and keeping ice to fill a cooler for food preservation. Or you could buy a portable generator.

Portable generators connect the equipment you want to power directly to the outlets on the generator. The best-selling leisure generator on the market is the Honda EU20i. This generator is ideal for camping but if an emergency did arise it would power your fridge, keep the lights on and charge your phones and tablets. With a maximum output of 2000W/240-volt AC and up to 15 hours of continuous operation on Eco-Throttle†, this multi-purpose generator powers anywhere, anytime.

If you’re looking for something with a little more power, Honda’s EU30is Electric Start is perfect for domestic and commercial applications. The EU30is is whisper-quiet, operating from 52dB(A)*/65dB(A), and at only 59kg, is one of the lightest generators in its class. The EU30is uses Honda’s advanced four-stroke GX200 engine for a maximum power output of 3,000 watts AC, and rated output of 2,800 watts. The engine is protected via a low oil alert system, and it will give you up to 20 hours of continuous operation on Eco-Throttle†.

If you’re interested in purchasing a generator or need advice on which is best suited to your needs, visit powerequipment.honda.com.au or your nearest specialist Honda dealer.

† With Eco-Throttle switched on when rated at ¼ output
*Due to Australian electrical regulations, please do not connect your EU20i Generator to a homes’ electrical system.
**Ensure your generator is not operated in a closed confined space due to the risk of CO emissions.
